Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Poster

So finally we get to see a poster for the 50^th anniversary episode of Doctor Who!! This upcoming episode brings both the 10^th Doctor and 11^th Doctor together, along with Rose, Clara, and the Unknown Doctor played by John Hurt. I’m hoping this will be as epic of an episode because it will be the 2^nd to last episode we get with Matt Smith as the 11^th Doctor.  This episode will air on November 23^rd on BBC, BBCA and in some cinema’s in the UK in 3D.

For those who have read my blog post about The Evil TeddyBear Podcast: Evil Ted On Who episode I'm trying to put together here is a updated version of what I need if you wanna be a part of the show!

The 12th Doctor Revealed!!

And it looks like the new Doctor has been revealed!! Peter Capaldi, who has been on Doctor Who before in the "Fires Of Pompeii", will be our 12th Doctor!! I'm kinda glad they went with an older man for the role, because last time they went for a younger man. Anyway hopefully this guy will be bring his "A" game and make The Doctor his own.

Evil Ted's 100th epsiode/Doctor Who episode!

So we are coming up on episode 100 for The Evil TeddyBear Podcast, which is awesome and I'm excited about. It's been a long road to get here but still we have a long way to go before we are done.

For the 100th episode I wanna do something big and memorable but I also want it to be nerdy has hell. So I decided to try and do a live podcast somewhere, not sure where yet but I would like to try at this place called The Hangar, which we went to a Doctor Who party too... if not there then some place else we will figure it out. For those who don't know, The Hanger is a comedy place where a lot of comedic person I know go and do shows like improv, stand-up and more.

Now speaking of Doctor Who, I'm trying to put together a episode of The Evil TeddyBear Podcast in which it's nothing but Doctor Who chat before the 50th Anniversary come around. Just like the Chasing Greedo Podcast episode I did for Star Wars Day - May the 4th (be with you), I wanna get fans involved in the episode. If you wanna hear yourself on the podcast here's what you'll need to do

Good Bye Ponds

Doctor who has been one of my favorite shows for years, and has taken me for an adventure since it first came back on the air. The show originally started in 1963 as a black and white serial show which stared William Hartnell as The First Doctor. As the show went on, the actor for the Doctor has changed or as us “Whovians” call it “Regenerated”, over the years.  As of recent the last four Doctors have been Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, & now Matt Smith as the 11^th Doctor.  When the 11^th Doctor came on to the scene we were introduced to two companions that, I feel, will go down in history as some of the Doctor’s greatest companions. But I feel I’m getting a head of myself.

For years the Doctor has traveled with somebody, whether it is a human, alien, or a tin dog, he has never been alone.  These people were known as “Companions” in the Doctor who universe and these are the people who keep him grounded and from doing something that will not only hurt time but himself.  As the 9^th and 10^th Doctor hit the screen, we got introduced to many companions starting with Rose Tyler who was forced to leave the Doctor during the Battle of Canary Wharf, in which the daleks and cybermen were locked in battle for the Earth. After that battle the Doctor met Donna Noble, who he offered a hand to travel with him but fear got the better of her. Next was Martha Jones, who was doctor in training and then back Donna. Now I know I left out a few people like Captain Jack Harkness and Sarah Jane Smith. I left them out because they either made such an impacted on the show that they got their own spin –off shows or traveled with the Doctor for a short time. Each time a companion left it was heart breaking but none compare to the Ponds leaving.

When we first meet Amelia Pond, the Doctor is still recovering his regeneration from his 10^th form. We meet her as “The Little Girl with the Crack in Her Wall”, who was the first to meet the Doctor in his 11^th form. Of course after leaving her for 5 minutes, his words not mine, he comes back to find a grown Amelia know going by the name Amy to help solve her “wall” problem. During this event we also meet Rory Williams, a nurse and at the time Amy’s boyfriend, and with that being their first adventure we all knew we were in store for some good fun. What we didn’t know is how many times we would fear for them, cry for them, and feel like we are part of the family that we grew to know.  I mean Rory alone has been through hell and back again from being swallowed up by The Crack in the Wall, to waiting for his love for 2000 years, and let’s not forget the last episode where he got thrown back in time just to be Angel food. Of course Amy herself has had some moments that left us on edge and made us cry for her. A good example of that would be her baby being taken from her by the Silence or when Rory and her went running through a rogue TARDIS that was taken over by an energy being known as “House” where she was tricked into coming across  an aged and crazed Rory and then again a skeleton of her love. 

Amy and Rory have had a lot of bad things happen but there were also good things that have happened in their lives that made us all smile. For example, when we find out that Rory somehow lived through the energy from the crack in the wall that swallowed him up and is reunited with Amy that was a heartfelt moment or when Rory went to Demon’s Run to recuse Amy and their daughter who was taken from him and The Doctor. Each moment they had together was very sweet and heartfelt which made their last few episodes so heartbreaking to watch.

I recommend watching their journey from the beginning if you’ve just tuned into the show or just want to travel down memory lane until the Christmas special comes around.  The one question that is on people’s minds now is, “Where will the Doctor go from here”? That’s a great question seeing that you know he won’t be alone for much longer. We’ll just have to see what happens next.  As for The Ponds I hope they live a good and happy life and I hope that they will never forget their time with The Doctor at all. I know he won’t forget them and neither will I.
